I Need You

I need you now
Please take by the hand
Stand by in my moment of need
Take time to understand

Take my hand
And lead me from this place
Chase away my doubts and fears
Wipe the tears off my face

I cannot stand alone without you
I need your hand to hold
The warmth of your gentle touch
In my world that's grown so cold

Please be the one for me
And hold me day by day
Because with your loving touch in mine
I know we'll find the way

Poetry Memoir

Today many author's are converting from classical or regular rhyming to poetry memoirs. It's basically telling your story through the power of poetry and a series of poems in order to tell your truthful tale of life. For example, I read a book called "Talking In The Dark" written by Billy Merrell. He covers all the topics from love, to life, to the darkness of life and down the downfalls can always be brought up. An example of his poem is:

Tattoo

When you asked if I liked it did I say No,
because I can't understand such a strange desire

to advertise in print a picture that, today you love?
Because the body is all we have? Because beauty

changes and cannot be worn forever? Did I say No,
tell you how I want to dissolve back into the earth

once I've died, have it take me back, not having revised
what I said been given? Did I push you away

because it seemed unnatural? I don't remember
what I said to you that morning as we spoke.

I knew it was a mistake, letting myself know
your skin- and later, how you wore the world,

or a favorite piece of it. I don't remember what I said, them,
but I'm glad you've shown me and glad you love

something enough to have it forever. I'm still learning to hold
something as long. To trust love, to really have it.

You gave yourself over to ink, knowing
what you wanted, and for how long

Quote Of The Day

"For what it's worth
it's never too late
to be who you want to be.
I hope you live a life you are proud of.
And if you find that you are not,
I hope you have strength to start it over again."

About Me

My name is Jasmine and I'm 16. I'm a passionate writer and poet. I love to write how I feel at the time and inspire along the way. I'm from Grand Rapids and my parents are Mexican decent. I have a sister who's 10 and a crazy wild dog named Buddy. I have had a long and bumpy journey through life, but stay strong and never giving up. I write my own poems, they are never taken from anyone, I write what's in my heart and soul. I range from gory to romance to the intensity of feelings at the moment. I have been threw it all from depression and anxiety. I take each day a step at a time and I write to replace the harm I take to heart. All of my poems and the poems I read are related to my situations, some will be happy others can range. I can only hope that you enjoy and connect to my pain and we can get through this journey of life together.
